She manages money, is generous, and she may have money to manage, including other people’s, maybe clan money. Queen of Pentacles is talented and skilled too – ‘able’ is one of her words. A man who is attracted to Queen of Pentacles sees her as ‘the woman who has sit all.’ Over into the shadow side, she owns her man, is bossy and histrionic (too emotional in an attention-getting dramatic way) – but you need outside context to bring these out. She is your mama. She is famous for taking care: This is one of her main phrases.
………………………….. Magician as the ‘1’ is esoterically the male principle of action on the physical plane, which – again esoterically – makes him passive on the mental and spiritual planes. This concept supports the stereotype of guys doing things without thinking, of course. (High Priestess is the reverse of that, as the female principle.) So Magician’s meanings tend this way: male pronouns; the word ‘action’ and all forms of ‘do’ and ‘make,’ and being the one who does, or the one who brings about something. His constant, amongst all this change, is the speed at which he does these things. This card in Tarot Verbatim™ is just as likely to be phrases about the hurry or the various directions. Queen of Pentacles …………. Queen of Pentacles is expert at handling people and money. She is the kind of emotional that makes people go along with whatever she is about and whatever she is up to. She is tribe- or family- oriented. Sometimes she is the head woman in a work camp, site or place. She’s that intimidating head nurse or waitress, maybe. She budgets and saves, whatever her station in life. We are talking stereotype here, of course. She is known for her talent, her skill, her generous spirit. Put her in a bad light, and just reverse all that and she is the bossy matron. You find this card, when the spread is about a man’s point of view of his woman, often translating ‘The woman who has it all.’

Magician …………. Magician is a doer, is the one who takes the initiative. In sentences it can stand, for example, for ‘do it yourself.’ He is a self-starter, self-reliant … a lot of ‘self’s.’ He is quite often a verb about doing something, making something happen, bringing something about, initiating or starting something. Once in a while Magician is about a start-up. When Magician is a person or an animal, it is always male, because as a ‘1,’ he is the male principle of action, esoterically speaking. So the baby is a boy if that is what you are asking.

Page of Wands and Magician and Sun are all guy cards that also have some gender neutral meanings. (Like Magician is ‘do’ and Sun is ‘fun.’)
Sun and Page of Wands are youth. Sun is the player, is on vacation enjoying himself, is the reckless brat who breaks the rules, is out having fun, leaving impulsively. Page of Wands is the well-dressed and well-spoken fine young man who is respectable and eager to fit in, be accepted. Page of Wands means a person’s image or identity or good reputation.
Knight of Swords is changing. Put him next to Magician, and it is himself he is changing – especially with Page of Wands being identity, being ‘who I am.’
So today’s Tarot discussion is very much about a fellow who is changing, changing himself. The change can go either way: We have the good guy (Page of Wands ), the callous brat (Sun), the change (Knight of Swords ) and doing it himself (Magician ).
Knight of Swords and Sun both mean ‘leaving.’ Knight of Swords is getting out in a hurry, and Sun has impulsively sneaked out to play.

Knight of Swords is in a hurry to get out and he is changing. Changing suddenly, usually. You see him flying by in such a hurry. He can be in pursuit, which suits the illustration (sword extended, as Knight leans forward) or can be fleeing, or can just be in a hurry. He is also a turnaround … which kind of suits meaning both fleeing and pursuing.
Page of Wands is a talker, and is looking good, is in fine shape – well-dressed and well-spoken proud young respectable fellow. Page of Wands is almost always male, as is true of most of the pages in Tarot Verbatim™. This card represents you when you are into your role or your image.
Magician shows the fellow with his wand raised, the tools of his trade on the table, in the act of making something happen or not happen. He is always a guy, since he stands for the male principle of action or being active. He usually calls forth the words: he, himself, to do (Conjugate that verb for him!), to make (Conjugate that too.), to make (it) happen, to be the one who did, does, is doing (whatever). It’s also the do-it-yourself card.
Sun If it feels good do it. I just wanna have fun. I gotta get out of the house. The heedless feckless youth who is going to get hurt because he doesn’t know. The playboy, the brat. Breaking the rules (or sometimes the law). The charming boy or fun kid. Having fun. You see a young child nude on a wicked pony, not holding on, having a fun time in the summer.

Well, it’s New Year’s Day and our spread is actually a lot about resolutions. Knight of Pentacles is determined, resolved, has one thing on his mind, is focused … that’s a resolution, right? Magician does, acts, brings it about, makes it happen. There ya go.
So what are these resolutions about? – the other cards are Nine of Pentacles and Knight of Swords. Nine of Pentacles is the calm cool independent woman or person who has a niche and is comfortable in life. Nine of Pentacles is associated with being home, with a life of leisure, and ‘having it your way.’ Her affairs are in order, and don’t ask her for a loan.
Knight of Swords means a change. That’s what resolutions are about. It also means fast, to hurry, and to come back to (or zoom away from).

Magician does, acts, brings it about, makes it happen. This Rider Waite Tarot card is associated with the male principle of being the active party in a given plane, in occult circles. So he mainly means any form of ‘to do’ or ‘to make’ and any male thing. He is shown in the act of creating something with his magic wand.
Knight of Pentacles is determined, resolved, has one thing on his mind, is focused. He is the man with muscles, the tough or rough guy.
Nine of Pentacles is the calm cool independent woman or person who has a niche and is comfortable in life. Nine of Pentacles is associated with being home, with a life of leisure, and ‘having it your way.’ Her affairs are in order, and don’t ask her for a loan.
Knight of Swords means a change. That’s what resolutions are about. It also means fast, to hurry, and to come back to (or zoom away from). We see a knight in hot pursuit, weapon extended over the horse’s neck.

Tarot will address any group flexibly, as it does here of ‘all the visitors.’ (It can address ’all the people at work who have a say in my raise,’for instance, without you knowing who or where those people are.)

Astrology has to be based on someone else’s birth data, though, so it does not solidly apply to you just because of where the sun was when you were born. (Astrologers know this.)

Without a questionto focus the answer, four cards can mean contradictory things, especially when the Spread has a card that means ‘no, never or not.’ That negative modifier can apply to any one of the cards.
Without a questionalso the pronouns (you, him, her, me, us, them, they, etc.) in a group reading are more flexible, especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads. When a pronoun is in parentheses, feel veryfree to substitute. Notice how, as much as possible, we drop pronouns, which makes for some awkward phrasing.
The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information! In a ‘real’ reading, the parties are identified (including the gender of the questioner!), and so is the time frame if there is one. In this group reading, we cannot do that, so we have variety.

Sun and Page of Wands are youth. Sun is the player, the brat. Page of Wands is the fine young man, well-spoken and well-dressed, who is respectable.
Knight of Swords and Sun are both leaving. Knight of Swords is getting out in a hurry and Sun has sneaked out to play.
Page of Wands, Magician and Sun are identified with males.
Knight of Swords also means a change, which makes a change of identity – between being an acceptable and respectable well-dressed person and being a (naked) brat – a strong theme here. Especially when you add in that Knight of Swords and Magician refer to making a change or ‘changing himself.’
MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS: INDIVIDUAL RIDER WAITE TAROT CARDS
Knight of Swords is in a hurry to get out and he is changing. Changing suddenly, usually. You see him flying by in such a hurry. He can be in pursuit, which suits the illustration (sword extended, as Knight leans forward) or can be fleeing, or can just be in a hurry. He is also a turnaround … which kind of suits meaning both fleeing and pursuing. (I do not make up the meanings; I discover them.)
Page of Wands talks and is looking good, is in fine shape – well-dressed and well-spoken proud young respectable youth. Almost always male, as is true of most of the pages in Tarot Verbatim ™ . He is into his role, his image, like a politician whose wife is never too sexy.
Magician shows the fellow with his wand raised, the tools of his trade on the table, in the act of making something happen or not happen. He is always male since he stands for the male principle of action or being active. He usually calls forth the words: he, himself, to do (conjugate that verb for him!), to make, to make (it) happen, to be the one who …
