Guidance

Gamma rats are neither alpha nor beta: They live quietly private lives (alongside the pecking order) with their attractive mate and do not interact much with the community. It’s easy to overlook gamma-rat humans. We are looking at them here today: people who give others their due respect but command respect for themselves by being very private and not putting up with things … not putting up with things you’re supposed to put up with. People whose behavior influences others to behave: We’re drinking to them today.

Strength – Six of Pentacles – World

Tarot Readings : Strength and Six of Pentacles

The way you treat people who would butt in, they butt out.

Here I am enforcing justice where it’s none of my business.

You can handle your bills so you have nothing to worry about.

You influence the people you deal with; they don’t influence you.

You pay people to do the hands-on part; you aren’t involved in that.

I handled it so they got what they deserved, and they aren’t coming around.

The way you treat them, they cannot interfere, so you aren’t interfered with.

She makes them pay what they owe, and has nothing more to do with them.

Tarot Readings : Strength and World

As an outsider, I applied, my way, what I was given.

The risk manager is the top person and gets paid accordingly.

You’re not involved in the issue, but you deliver the solution.

Without getting involved, you stifle opposition to a fair exchange.

Being assertive and unavailable, you get the respect you deserve.

She is intolerant; she puts her foot down about about what’s right.

Make them behave and give you the respect you deserve by ignoring them.

Tarot Readings : Six of Pentacles and World

Get them to pay you, and to heck with the rest of it.

Not paying someone’s bills anymore fixes that problem.

Not getting a paycheck is something I have to deal with.

When you don’t owe anybody a thing, you have overcome.

He is attentive to the shapely lady; she can get him to behave.

She has no connections; she gets paid for what she can get people to do.

The right thing to do is to avoid being the solution to other people’s problems.

Synopsis

Comes the day I realize I get the exact degree of aggravation that I am willing to put up with, I decide not to put up with any. Is that militant? Could be, but now my path is not strewn with the broken glass of other people’s agendas, and not dotted with the no-nos of people I barely know. Gee, it feels good to be me now, dancing free in my own little (or big) world, no longer interfered with by insiders now that I’m officially an outsider.

Strength

You have an influence on your surroundings, Strength says, so use that influence self-confidently to clear a space. Pictured is someone who isn’t getting in your way because of who you are.

He came to roar, and she prevents that – prevents the opposition with her gentle hands massaging his snout. Strength is about how who you are, your character, influences what happens to you and around you, especially when it comes to overcoming obstacles before they present themselves. Strength stands for the way a person who can handle trouble repels trouble (usually because there are easier targets). Strength also represents how smooth your progress can be if you foresee where the sticking places might be, and act in advance.

Strength is the kind of person (or animal, really) who commands respect. Today with Six of Pentacles (treating others fairly), Strength’s emphasis is on this ‘getting people to behave’ aspect.

Strength owns words like handle and hands-on because she has her hands on the lion. Strength also owns words that mean a fix or a solution to a problem. Today Strength is a risk manager, even.

Six of Pentacles

An employer pays to the penny what he owes, weighing the coins – pays fairly, so Six of Pentacles is one of our justice cards. He pays, and they receive: Both sides of an exchange – whether of money, attention, respect, or anything else – are expressed by Six of Pentacles. Treating anyone or anything fairly is the focus today of Six of Pentacles in the company of World (who ignores the riffraff) and Strength (who gets people to behave).

Six of Pentacles is what’s right, as well as doing what’s right. It’s something you are given, as well as the act of giving it. It’s what you deserve, as well as getting what you deserve. Sometimes that distinction is meaningful.

World

World does not acknowledge or interact with anyone or anything not on her level. And her level is the highest level: World is superior, is at the top of her field, is the supreme expert (like High Priestess). She is master. She is in her own world, you could say. If it’s not meaningful to World, World is oblivious to it. (Don’t call her; she’ll call you.) World repels trouble by not acknowledging it and/or not associating with it. People who have an intense interest in something (a scholar, an activist, an athlete, etc.) have a gift for ignoring what’s irrelevant to that. The jokes about Einstein are examples of this. Are you World about some interest of yours?

You see the wreath-wall around a curvy woman wearing only a scarf who is dancing with a wand in each hand. The deep meaning of World is that trouble-making entities are not interested in a spiritual adept who is a ‘master of both worlds,’ which means (in the magic profession) a person who is expert in both black and white magic. Obviously, this part of World’s meanings is useless for most readings. But it is the core meaning that holds the other meanings together.

“Don’t call me; I’ll call you.” “I want to be alone.” “Let the world turn without me tonight.” World is about not being interfered with, in the same way that Strength is about preventing oneself from being interfered with. World is not involved. World is ‘It’s none of my business,’ and switch the pronoun to any one of them. World avoids other people, avoids other people’s anything. World is not interested, has nothing to do with them – or with anything. World is intolerant, is dismissive … ‘To heck with all of it.’ Mainly, world ignores … ignores everything and everybody she chooses to.

World has nothing to worry about. World is when you’re in a bubble of your own. World is cocooning. World is when you’re not under the influence of anyone else.

Well, World is about shutting out the world, but World is also about being out of the loop – about being shut out by the world, being marginalized, out of the loop, being the outsider, having no connections.

And World is the shapely woman. If you ever do readings about nude dancers, that’s World too: She is even enclosed in a cage.

Now Without The Pictures

Strength effectively prevents interruption in her affairs, and World is not interrupted by outside influence. (Think of Strength and World as Before and After.) They cannot interfere with you, so you aren’t interfered with. Six of Pentacles is the delivery of justice and/or treating them the way they deserve to be treated.

Actually, in real Tarot life, both Strength and Six of Pentacles can translate ‘the way you treat people,’ but the phrase is more direct and more common with Six of Pentacles.

Strength is being in a position to handle an opposition comfortably, which deters the opposition and prevents it from happening. World is the finished product: A person who isn’t interfered with. Think of Strength as the way you behave to discourage intimidation (which is often simply body language: Strength is deft and diplomatic).

Strength influences people to behave, Six of Pentacles is doing right by the next person, and World doesn’t put up with people who don’t behave. So our basic story with these three Rider Waite Tarot cards is people getting along by doing right by one another World discriminates (is choosy). World is intolerant. But Strength assertively enforces the ‘Your right to swing your arm stops where my nose begins’ concept…

Rider-Waite Tarot reading 2-8-11

Fixing it so you will have the money to pay your bills

Six of Pentacles Ace of Pentacles, Strength, Two of Wands

Practical Perspective: You will have the money to handle any problems that arise and pay the bills. Your financial plan fixes your money situation so that you can pay the bills and save for the future. You will be able to handle any financial problem that comes along with what you are paid. You are going to be paid a significant sum that puts you on top of things. You are going to make (him) pay you the money. Paying a large amount into a pension fund (or trust, or insurance) is the solution. You will receive money in a large amount that solves your difficulties. Taking control of your situation will pay off handsomely. Overcoming your own weaknesses and being on the right path, you will be treated with respect. Spiritual strength gives you the solid future you deserve. She quashes the person who makes her problem, and does it right, so justice will happen for sure. She will make the right thing – justice – happen to the person who is the problem. She makes him/them pay her what is fair, long term. OKAY, OKAY, we got it.  “It’s the economy, stupid” kind of thing.  It’s all about money.  (Well, it also speaks of spiritual power bringing success.  The justice theme is interesting too:  That can be about court proceedings.)  No romance for today, but you get paid:  Which do you prefer?  (Me, I take the money, but I’ve had my share of love and retired.)

Meanings and Illustrations:

Our first card is the Ace of Pentacles. If you had to choose one card to live in, this would be it.  It means success, the right path (the Right Hand Path in occult lore), money in hand, being right, and the word ‘perfect.’  Since it is residing in a spread of two other cards that mean money, and one other that means success, those are what it is expressing to us today. Its illustration is a hand with big money in it, ‘the prize in hand,’ over ‘the right path, a pretty trail with lilies in front, white of course, and garlands growing over a big trellis, like a victory display. Our next is a Waite Tarot card that is very rich in meanings.  Strength of character gives the ability to overcome and solve whatever comes against you by influencing it rather than by outright battle.  Demons, for example, avoid adepts (spiritual masters); trouble avoids people who are prepared for it; bullies avoids people who are in the mood for battle.  The card refers most often to ‘handling’ or ‘being able to handle’ and overcoming, including overcoming yourself (self-discipline) as well as overcoming opposition, the enemy or an attacker.  The conflict, in this story, is resolved without coming to blows – is resolved by the attacker not going through with it, losing its/his/their nerve. Positioned next to the Ace of Pentacles, the Strength Tarot card emphasizes spiritual victory and being right.  Being right is also expressed by the last card in our today spread., so that is a major theme. The illustration of Strength is the white robed woman wearing garlands (She got them from the Ace of Pentacles trellis there.) and an infinity sign is over her head like a halo.  She is a spiritual adept, a saint if you will.  The lion wanted to attack her, but she has charmed him so much that she has shut his mouth and made him purr while she pets him.  Her influence is that powerful.  No one will fight her. The Two of Wands also speaks of influence and success and money.  Finance and banking, financial outlook, ownership of real estate.  It speaks of a sure thing and future or long term, future money especially.  He is feeling mighty powerful looking out over the community he owns and planning what he will do with this investment.  The card often supplies the word ‘will’ or ‘in the future’ or ‘certain’ as in a sure thing.  It speaks of financial security and investments that are solid. Lastly is the Six of Pentacles, which shows a financial exchange, someone paying people who, of course, are being paid – fairly, a fair price.  The scales of justice in the illustration express this ‘fair’ part.  We are not talking about court proceedings today.  Sitting next to the Two of Wands, the Six of Pentacles bespeaks a person who is wealthy, has money.  He is paying his bills.

Rider-Waite tarot 2-8-11b

This is his big romance, he feels powerful

Hanged Man King of Swords, Knight of Pentacles, Six of Cups

Romance Perspective: Intense romance with a VIP who has eyes only for her. He’s got it in his head to be both manly and macho, in order for her to be the sweet little gal. Realizes being romantic and being the man’s man is the priority. He senses that him being powerful is the one thing that makes her romantic. He smells this being an old-fashioned romance:  him being one thing – the leader. Military man is so tough, she is so innocent: a meeting of minds. This is his big romance, he feels powerful. He knows the one most cherished romantic gift a man could give his beloved. Two guys who are intensely in love.

Practical Perspective: These two men’s-men trust one another instinctively. Father feels intensely, sees her an a naïve kid (naif). Realizes the commanding officer sees him as a softie. He is strongly psychic especially about the past. He remembers his childhood, focusing on his father. Well, after I did the messages that were about money and not love, I asked specifically about love for you.  Aren’t I nice?  And here is what we came up with:  that your fellow is thinking romantic thoughts about you, feeling strongly that he should be manly if he wants you to be sweet to him.  Feeling ‘she is the one’ intensely.  Realizing being many is a good thing for romance.

Meanings and Illustrations:

King of Swords: The commanding officer, the manly man, the powerful man, the authority.  In the illustration, he sits tall and straight, looking straight at you, weapon is his hand.  A leader or VIP.  Next to the children card, the Six of Cups, he is definitely daddy.

Knight of Pentacles: The short tough guy from a rough neighborhood, stereotypically.  Muscles.  Love the way his horse has the same look!  ‘He has one thing on his mind’ is a frequent meaning.  Concentration, knowing one thing, focusing on one thing, sees one thing. He can be obsessive, the way he is staring at that pentacle object.

Hanged Man: Here is an echo of the ‘knowing’ theme in the previous Rider Waite Tarot card.  The Hanged Man means ‘realize,’ and ‘to sense,’ ‘to feel strongly,’ and to be psychic – usually to receive.  It brings up the word ‘intense’ at times.

Its illustration in the Rider Waite pantheon shows energy emanating from his head as he hangs upside down – the way you feel when a whiff of psychic realization hits you, that the world is upside down.

Tarot reading 1-23-11

Beautiful gal gets his attention and makes him marry her

Empress
Strength, Six of Pentacles, Ten of Cups

She makes everybody respect her and is their resource.
She is a sexy gal who is adept at getting everyone’s respect.
Her skill and her being a resource for everybody gets her very well paid.
She is one of those happy prosperous people who make others give her her due.
Everyone is happy with her ability to make ‘slows’ pay their bills.
She is so well off she pays her household bills, she has that under control.
Her ability to make everyone in the family chip in and give her the good life.
She solves the bill paying problem and is so happy to have plenty.

Okay, here we have another manic happily-ever after Girl Story. Tomorrow had better be good after this one! She gets respect, gets the money, makes everybody happy, solves the problems – what more could you want? – oh yeah, there’s marriage. Again.

Strength is the woman who prevents opposition and solves problems by her strength of character: See, the lion can’t snarl at her, she has her hands over his mouth and is petting him. Six of pentacles is any kind of money exchange, especially paying the bills or getting paid. Ten of Cups, well, thar she blows, the ‘happily-ever-after marriage card, which also means everybody and prosperous lives. And the Empress, of course, is the beautiful dame who has plenty, the Fertility Goddess herself.
