Temperance
Temperance is a close or intimate relationship, and also means a deal, or to deal with another. Being partners or associates, being together, being a couple, being in close touch or communication – a union. Temperance depicts an angel with a symbol for healing on his chest. This angel is pouring water and wine together to dilute the wine – hence, Temperance. It is one of the religious-themed cards put in the deck to deflect the opposition of the all-powerful Roman Catholic church in the Middle Ages.
Knight of Cups
Knight of Cups is a friend, a buddy, a friendly fellow who takes the initiative – a salesman. He also means to accept or to offer, to initiate or make the first move, and to suggest. Not to forget – he is the sweet-natured guy and the boyfriend. He wears Mercury’s wings (the messenger of the gods) on his helmet as he extends the cup of friendship. His horse is stationary, lifting up a foot casually. He and the horse are drawn with curved lines and in pastels. Mellow fellow.
Knight of Wands
Knight of Wands is one of the ‘leaving’ cards. He is on the road. Getting out of Dodge in a hurry. Moving out of town. He is also one of the ‘pursuing’ cards associated with ‘moving on up,’ fast progress, getting ahead, and love life. In love life, he is pursuing her, and may even be moving to her town. Look for him when there’s a transfer in someone’s job. He is also passing through town. He is in a hurry, speeding, and can be a rush job or a project being done in a hurry.

Judgment is a new level, a new life, a sudden shift, an announcement or declaration, a change. It also means to return to a former state, person or place, or the return of something or someone. Recovery, rejuvenation, recall, restoration: You find a lot of ‘re-‘ words around Judgment. These disparate meanings are held in place by the illustration: The angel blows the horn (an announcement) to wake the dead back to life, which is a change and a return to a former state. Judgment is, of course, one of the legal cards – but not today.

Well, this is one of the easiest, simplest foursomes we have encountered in the two years this blog has been alive. Knight of Cups is the warm, diplomatic, affectionate good-natured fellow who is a friend to all.
Temperance is closeness between people, intimacy, getting along together.
Seven of Pentacles is puzzled and wonders.
Ten of Wands is a long time, and is difficult. It also means to wait, sometimes.
You just weave these together, and you got it. “Why do we get along so well all the time?” it asks.

LEARN TAROT BY PICTURES
Knight of Cups offers the cup of friendship. His horse is standing still and cute as a merry-go-round pony … matches his rider. The card, in Rider Waite, is pastel color and curved, relaxed lines. Knight of Cups wears the wings of Mercury (the messenger, communication) on his helmet.
Temperance Pouring wine and water together to dilute the wine for the purpose of promoting sobriety is what the illustration is about, but the card means closeness, intimacy, getting along together and buddies. It is one of the cards that in Tarot Verbatim (TM) do not really reflect the illustration.
Seven of Pentacles Huh? Gee, I wonder? Why do you suppose? The fellow leans on his shovel, pondering whether his plants will bear fruit.
Ten of Wands Long time, long term, as well as ‘slow’ and ‘difficult.’ He is weighted down by taking all the firewood in one load. But he will make it.

Each Tarot sentence is a literal-interpretation reading of the scenes pictured on the four cards you see. Only what each of the cards says – phrase by phrase – no fillers – no psychic ability used. The readings are about you and the people around you. They are about today and the days around it. Tarot, all by itself, talks to you. This is a demonstration of that .
Tarot will address any group flexibly, as it does here of ‘all the visitors.’ (It can address ’all the people at work who have a say in my raise,’ for instance, without you knowing who or where those people are.)
Horoscopes are group readings too.
Astrology has to be based on someone else’s birth data, though, so it does not solidly apply to you just because of where the sun was when you were born. (Astrologers know this.)
Emily wants to know whether these sentences are more accurate for regular visitors than for people who have come only a few times. Would you help with a comment, if that is who you are? Please?
Without a question to focus the answer, four cards can mean contradictory things, especially when the Spread has a card that means ‘no, never or not.’ That negative modifier can apply to any one of the cards.
Without a question also the pronouns (you, him, her, me, us, them, they, etc.) in a group reading are more flexible, especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads. When a pronoun is in parentheses, feel very free to substitute. Notice how, as much as possible, we drop pronouns, which makes for some awkward phrasing.
The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information! In a ‘real’ reading, the parties are identified (including the gender of the questioner!), and so is the time frame if there is one. In this group reading, we cannot do that, so we have variety.

Advice is about some types of close friendships and relationships that make us uneasy, and some times that close friendships and relationships make us uneasy. A buddy gets on our nerves. Being anxious about being close for different reasons. Having to be more of a friend to someone, because of circumstances, than we really feel. We have all been these places, and here they are delineated. One wonders why.

Both Page of Swords and Nine of Wands are about anxiety, apprehension, edgy uncomfortable feelings. Both Temperance and Knight of Cups are about intimacy. Knight of Cups is the friendly relaxed fella who is everyone’s friend, who makes the first move to shake hands. Temperance is the close or intimate relationship, and it means to deal one-on-one with someone. So this spread will be talking twice about uncomfortable friendship, different flavors of that. MEANINGS AND ILLUSTRATIONS: INDIVIDUAL RIDER WAITE TAROT CARDS Page of Swords – here’s that fearful dude, hair swinging, whipping around, sword twirling in the air, and no one around for miles. He is nervous, irritated, paranoid. At best, he he thrilled or worked up about something. Temperance is dealing with, usually dealing closely with someone. It is a close friendship or intimate partner. It can be about healing, not today. The angel pours water and wine together to dilute it. This is one of those ‘extra’ cards the Middle Ages added to make the deck acceptable to religious people who would accuse people of witchcraft. The picture does not have much to do with the meaning the Tarot Verbatim system imputes to it. Knight of Cups is the friendly guy, the boyfriend, the pleasant fellow who agrees, who meets and greets skillfully. He is depicted sitting on a still horse offering someone a drink. All the lines are curved and relaxed and all the colors of the drawing are pale and pleasant. Nine of Wands is another high-strung fella. He has a right to be. He has been wounded guarding this border, once, and they are likely, he feels, to attack again. He is alredy wounded in the head. He rests on his pole anxiously, standing upright. He means defensiveness (No!?) and nervousness, feeling tense and ill at ease.
