Tarot Readings for You for April 22, 2015 Wednesday©

GUIDANCE     WELCOME TO THE UNREAL WORLD!     Describing that moment of up-periscoping and saying ‘Duh.’ That moment of enlightenment that reality is all in your head, being replayed back to you. Seeing the humor in getting sucked into other people’s service. Waking up and smelling the coffee of where you fit into other people’s agendas. Being depressed about being someone’s fool, having gone along with their con. I did it to myself in the end, and I do feel silly about it. Welcome to the unreal world.

Tarot Readings: We’ve Been Had for a Long Time (Ten of Wands and Six of Wands)

We’ve been had, really bad for a really long time, haven’t we?

After all this time of being taken advantage of, we ask questions.

How did they pull off this deception for so long?

We have a lot of questions about how things seem to be, don’t we?

We are finally asking questions about victories that aren’t.

Hmm, there seems to be a lot of bullshit here.

It’s all a big pretense as if we are such fools.

I think I got tricked into a whole lot of stuff.

Seems to be a lot of con artists in the woodpile.

The propaganda is getting so extreme it’s amusing.

How about you-guys slow down with your agenda?

………….. ………………

Tarot Readings: Fooling Yourself (Six of Wands and Page of Cups)

Why are you depressed? – because things are truly not as they seem.

Get in over your head, and have no idea what games these people are playing.

Why is it so hard when it doesn’t seem to be?

Act stupid and go along with the program, although that’s difficult.

………….. ………………

Tarot Reading: Ask a Lot of Questions (Ten of Wands and Page of Cups)

Too much covert opposition raises questions.

Let’s put a good face on it, because they are going to ask a lot of questions.

When they ask too many questions, they are up to something.

Ten of Wands – Six of Wands – Page of Cups

.

LEARN TAROT BY OBSERVING

.

……….…… . …. Six of Wands and Page of Cups both call appearances into question. Six of Wands directly says ‘Appearances are deceiving’ and Page of Cups questions and indicates something is strange, weird, fishy. The other card is Ten of Pentacles, who only exacerbates whatever trouble its companions encounter. So today we are looking at the contrived reality, taking it with a whole box of salt. Today we question the propaganda because it got too rich. Today we are doubting the existence of Santa Claus.

…………………. Ten of Wands is too much … too much of anything – just the word, just the concept, that you apply to whatever subject the other cards are talking about. It also says the going is hard, trying hard, and things are so difficult. Today the other cards both indicate mistrust of what seems to be. So today, Ten of Wands is corralled into a few of its meanings.

When it isn’t employed in the job you see in this spread, Ten of Wands is overwhelming, slow progress, overburdened, and ‘keep on keeping on.’ We dip into some of the meanings here today, like:

really _

long time, so long,

a lot of

finally

depressed

truly

so hard

too many

a big

all over the place

too much

a whole lot

slow down

difficult

trying hard

so extremely

too.

…………………. Six of Wands‘ main message is things are not as they seem, that some covert agenda, some propaganda, some deception is going on. This covers anything from government conspiracies to your lover cheating, to believing something unreal that is counterproductive. Six of Wands is any reason at all to mistrust the environment, to question what seems real … and that includes your own motives. Six of Wands is the con artist, the bullshitter, not just blarney that is innocuous (harmless).

Other Tarot systems are believing the propaganda presented in the card of the victory. The obvious … overly obvious … victory in the illustration is about the abduction by Arabs of King Richard III in a battle he actually won. He chased retreating forces and it was a trap. This happened to Jeanne d’Arc too. Tarot Verbatim™ applies the whole story in the illustration, of the subterfuge. Six of Wands is far more meaningful in Tarot Verbatim™ than it is in other systems.

………………… Page of Cups is one of the ‘Duh’ cards that represents the ‘duh’ groove in our human brains – the ‘Why didn’t I think of that?’ groove. Page of Cups prompts questions, means ‘question,’ means ‘ask questions.’ It also means awkward, inappropriate, dumb and stupid, dressed strangely.

You see a fellow carrying a cup around with a fish in it (fishy, right?), dressed in women’s clothes. This is the card for cross dressing, transgender, gay person of either gender.

Now remember this: In a Celtic cross spread, if the first card you put down is Page of Cups as the first Self card, Tarot is telling you ‘This isn’t going to make sense, but it’s correct.’ It is instructing the reader that, ‘Yes, this really is what’s up re the information you address here.’ I tell the person I am reading for this.

Well here we are in Oz, ladies and gentlemen, without the green glasses that make it seem real. We are not believing our eyes because the scene does not make sense so much that it’s funny, and we are asking ourselves why it looked okay before. Enlightenment is one thing that you may be experiencing when you feel this way, or maybe just wising up … which is enlightenment, if you think about it.

.

Ten of Wands………Ten of Wands is when you take on the whole project all by yourself. Have you heard someone (especially mothers) say ‘It’s easier if I just do it myself’? That’s what Ten of Wands is talking about: save a trip, do it all in one load. It’s difficult, but I am done with it. ‘Difficult’ belongs to Ten of Wands. He comes by it honestly: Look at backbreaking undertaking.

Ten of Wands is about the extreme of anything, so it often translates: too, too much, very, all, too many, a whole lot or a lot of, really (as an adjective, so ‘really hard’), and of course ‘extremely.’

Another arm of Ten of Wands’ arsenal is being overloaded, overwhelmed, bogged down, depressed, which goes along with slow, slow going, slow progress, and so on.

Ten of Wands is taking a long time (slow progress, remember?) so he owns words like: finally, indefinitely, long term, so long since, a long hard road, taking it slow, slows you down, forever, too long, long and hard, etc.

.

Six of Wands………….Six of Wands is believing your eyes when you should not. Its looking like a victory march, but you’re only imagining it. Six of Wands is a warning, often, to rethink, reevaluate, mistrust the environment, reassess your position, mistrust the people you are dealing with. Six of Wands tells you you may be drinking the Kool Ade about something, you may be mistaken in some way that will cost you. Six of Wands is the football player who is running the ball in the opposite direction, about to make a touchdown … for the opposition. That is a great concept for pigeonholing or outlining Six of Cups.

Page of Cups greatly magnifies Six of Wands’ import, because Page of Cups also indicates something fishy is afoot.

.

Page of Cups……….Page of Cups is ridiculous, silly, strange, awkward, inappropriate, stupid, out of place. Page of Cups is maybe, why, and why not. Page of Cups is a big question mark – literally. It makes your sentence a question. It is advice to question, it translates ‘question,’ and it says ‘Something’s up.’ That last statement also belongs to Six of Wands. Page of Cups and Six of Wands are roommates.

Page of Cups is the comedian. It translates ‘funny’ in both senses of that word. It indicates humor, it indicates something is a joke, and it means to clown around, to make an idiot of oneself.

When Page of Cups appears as the first Self card in Celtic Cross, the reader is informed that this sounds ridiculous, but it’s the way things are. You get that when you are reading the mind of someone whose mind is, shall we say, not so well-organized?

Since Page of Cups is a fellow in women’s clothes, this is the main card for any gender orientation other than straight.

Tarot Readings for You for April 20, 2013 Saturday(c)

In many different ways, we are looking for the right one, the right image, the right path, focusing our effort upon this search. Perfecting ourselves is what we seek and what we put our energies into, however we define, and however we focus. We could be seeking to be or to have a good looking person; we could be seeking to perfect our character, our speech, our abilities to fight … whatever it is. We could be into sobering up – again in various ways, with various definitions. You could say ‘Everybody’s trying to do something that is all-important to them.’

Page of Wands

Hermit – Five of Wands – Ace of Pentacles

3 Tarot Readings: On the Right Path for Myself (Hermit and Page of Wands)

Am on a path of throwing myself into perfecting myself.

Striving patiently to perfect the way I look to other people.

Am trying to find my way with the street directions I was told.

I seek with all my might to speak perfect (English).

Furiously looking for a way to be the perfect candidate.

Seeks and strives to have the perfect look (to be good-looking).

How hard he is trying to look honest to succeed.

He is on the way to being the ideal combatant (soldier/martial arts).

Seeking perfection is too hard for the type of person I am.

Trying to have a good image and be honest, too.

I try too hard to be honest, to be that perfect person.

The old man wins the competition for best-looking.

My energy is into looking for that perfect cute guy.

Tarot Readings: Seeking Perfection (Hermit and Ace of Pentacles)

He strives to be that perfect religious man.

I am fighting who I really am when I when it comes to being perfectly sober.

A guru or coach tells you how to succeed in the competition.

Just be seen as the perfect candidate for the subject activity.

A big effort to be that perfectly sober individual.

Tarot Readings: The Fight, the Battle (Five of Wands)

To win this battle, look perfectly quiet, low key, conciliatory.

You can tell them to look where they’re going and they give you a fight about it.

Get the facts straight in your verbal battle.

The fact is, to fight, be in perfect physical shape.

He is on the way to being the ideal combatant (soldier/martial arts).

Hermit    Here we have a ‘service religious,’ a person seeking God through religion and being of service to his fellowman. He is out on the road at night looking for people to help. This card, therefore, means such things as seek or look for, guide, be on the road (or on The Path), a trip, religious, an honest person, help or helper, a friend, to be quiet, be patient, be conciliatory, and look where you are going. Sometimes it refers to nighttime, investigations, and casting light upon.

Five of Wands   Five fellows whacking one another with boards. Hmm, what do you suppose that could mean? Fight, combatant, competition, sports, activity or actively or throwing oneself into an activity, energy or energetic effort or ‘furiously,’ try hard, striving, violent or violence.

Ace of Pentacles   The illustration is ‘the Right-hand Path’ in esoteric realms, as the Moon is ‘the Left-Hand Path.’ Here we have ‘the way,’ the straight and narrow (Christianity), the Middle Way (Buddhism), and some others I’m surely not informed of. The hand with the gold suggests the right way is rewarding. Lilies in front speak of the right and moral or pure way; rose trellis at its end suggests victory. So Ace of Pentacles means right, perfect, the best, reward and rewarding, success, correct, to give or receive (anything), and a lot of money or a price. It is also money or asset in a bookkeeping sense.

Page of Wands Here we have ‘every woman’s son and every girl’s Prince Charming.’ A fine-looking young man, standing straight and well-dressed. He is speaking or presenting himself. This is an apprentice who is looking to fit into his slot in society. So Page of Wands is about being, looking, being a type of person, being in good shape, looking good, being the one who (fill in the blank). It is about standing up for who you are and what you believe, about being proud. And it often just means ‘say’ or ‘talk.’

Hermit and Page of Wands are good honest men or people. Five of Wands is trying hard to, or striving to; Ace of Pentacles is to perfect, and being on ‘the Path.’ Hermit (a monk) is obviously ‘on the Path.’ Put it all together, and we have a person or man who is on the spiritual or religious path and and trying hard to perfect himself on that path.

On a mundane ‘street’ level, Hermit is giving instructions (as a coach, guru, trainer, etc.) to a person who is a candidate (Page of Wands). Hermit and Ace of Pentacles are about street directions, or are looking for the road, looking for the way to …. Five of Wands and Page of Wands are an effort to look good or to be good-looking, or a fighting (man). Ace of Pentacles and Page of Wands are the right words, or perfect language as in “I speak perfect English.” Those two cards in Tarot Verbatim(TM) are also the the perfect cute guy or the best-looking man. Five of Wands and Ace of Pentacles is winning the battle, being the perfect soldier or combatant (say, martial arts), putting effort into perfecting, and an effort to be right.

Our Daily Spread for Mar. 21, 2011

Rider_Waite_Tarot_Spread

It seems, in the real world, I am doing ‘way more than my part

Hierophant
Three of Pentacles, Page of Cups, Ten of Wands

Romantic Perspective from the Responsible Person:
This relationship is really old; when is he/she going to commit?
It seems, in the real world, I am doing ‘way more than my part.
What kind of relationship is this?  I am waiting for it to be official.
This is a long term committed relationship … but a strange one.
How long is it going to be before I have a relationship that is normal?

Romantic Perspective from the Other:
When you’re weird, it’s difficult to be normal in dealing with others.
How difficult is doing my part enough to pass?
This relationship is ‘way too normal for a maverick like me.
I get asked too many questions about doing my proper part in this deal.
What am I doing here? – this relationship is ‘way too straight for me.

Well, do we have the same relationship from two opposite views of it?  First – as you have probably learned by now – the Three of Pentacles is about relationship; next the ‘Duh’ Page of Cups, the dork or weirdo or whatever, a card that suggests the sentence is a question; then Ten of Wands is slow going and ‘too much.’  Atop these is the staid and sober Hierophant.  If it weren’t for that joker in the middle there, we would have a different story.  (Life is like that, isn’t it?)

Advice is ask yourself whether your relationship makes sense to you, whether you and yours are each doing parts or roles mutually agreed upon, and if not … well why take it seriously if the joker is in it?

Meanings and Illustrations:

Three of Pentacles: This is the relationship.  This is each person doing his/her part as agreed upon, the mutually rewarding and mutually satisfying deal.  Illustration shows an inspection that happens just before the architect gets his final (large) payment.

Page of Cups: As I said, the joker, and a card that suggests a question is afoot.  We see him calling up words like ‘maverick’ and ‘weird,’ but mostly Page of Cups is making the sentence a question.  By the way, in decks other than Rider Waite Tarot, I doubt if this meaning applies.

Ten of Wands: Oh, he is overloaded and going slow.  He has undertaken too much at once.  See the load of wood on his back?  He isn’t putting it down ‘til he gets to where it is going.  This is long term, this is ‘how long?’

Hierophant: The pope pictured here stands for the official story, being straight, normal and committed, the proper role, and the real, physical world.

Rider_Waite_Tarot_Spread

She wants more than romance, she wants him to be her husband legally, and she isn’t getting it

Justice
King of Wands, Queen of Swords, Six of Cups

Romantic Perspective:
She wants more than romance, she wants him to be her husband legally, and she isn’t getting it.
His wife complains she isn’t getting the romantic attention she is entitled to.
She wants her husband to give her presents like he should.
He does not legally marry the mother of his children; she is bitter about that.
She nags her husband to give the children what they should have.

His ex-wife sues him for child support.  (She is the complainant in a lawsuit over what her husband is to give the children.)
Being married to a man who has kids is irritating to her.
The angry type man and the angry type woman have a romance and get married.
The ex-wife and husband have a lawsuit over who the children live with.
The wife gives her child something that is legally the husband’s.

Another simple story.  We have husband, King of Wands, the Justice card that makes that ‘legal husband,’ the woman who is angry, not getting what she wants and deserves, or is nagging and complaining (or is a complainant in a lawsuit), the Queen of Swords; and then the children or the romance, the Six of Cups.

This probably describes something happening in a visitor’s life, or in the life of people a visitor knows.  I can’t think of any advice it gives, at all. The King of Wands and Queen of Swords would be a VERY unpleasant couple, a warring couple, and they are married because King of Wands with Justice is legal husband, and children would be a part of that.  This spread could be a woman prosecuting a man for romance with an underage girl, or perhaps child molesting, but I did not include that.

Meanings and Illustrations:

King of Wands: This is, in the Tarot Verbatim school of Rider Waite, the classical husband card.  It also means the irritated, angry, edgy, ill-tempered and possibly ‘working-class’ or redneck man.  The illustration supports that meaning:  The salamander symbol by his side means ‘fiery.’  (It’s a middle ages thing, don’t ask.)  He is a red-head, of course.

Queen of Swords: This is the angry irritated nagging complaining wench who isn’t getting what she wants.  He hollers and she whines, so they make a warring couple.  She is pictured as missing a dead child (the child pictured on her chair) and is also seen as a widow.  She has her left hand out as if to say ‘Gimme and NOW would be good’ and her right hand clutching a big sword.

Six of Cups: This is children and romance and old fashioned warm fuzzy feelings.  Little boy gives little girl flowers in front of a quaint house (or two) of a large estate.

Justice: It means ‘legal’ of the ‘legal husband’ phrase.  Also means of course any kind of court action or legality.  It also means ‘should’ and ‘entitled.’

error:
