Knight of Cups
Knight of Cups is the habitually casual friendly guy that we impute good intentions to, which means, of course, he is the type to get away with taking advantage, being the con artist that you still love after he fleeced you. He won’t have a bad resume (or a criminal record) because we forgive him. You see the curved lines and pastel shades on a Rider Waite card (Think Six of Cups), and you know it’s about something warm and fuzzy. That’s our boy here – our buddy, our boyfriend. He has a cup of friendship where a weapon would be … that is how he is armed, you know? He extends friendship. He and his horse are stationary and relaxed.
Two of Wands
Two of Wands is high finance and moneyed people. You see the real estate mogul surveying the parcels below, making plans for more profit from them. He owns a lot of soil … has a worldfull of it in his hand. The plans give this card future tense meanings, and Two of Wands changes other cards’ tense into future forms too. Seven of Swords

Prestigious universities overseas (Oxford University; L’ecole Polytechnique, and others) have classes in English that result in degrees, and they are far far far cheaper and far more respected internationally than U S universities are now. Bonus is that getting a job overseas is a LOT easier if you are not a United States school graduate. Tuition is a mere $5,000 at some of these schools. ……………………… Both Two of Swords and World are shutting influences, people, or things out. In very different ways. Two of Swords belongs to the Negator Club, and World is in a class (a world) of its own, unavailable to contact. But, we have drama: Six of Pentacles is an exchange, a fair exchange yet; Six of Pentacles means paying someone the attention they deserve. Note that Two of Swords + Six of Pentacles = World – to shut out, or to block, input.
………………………….. Two of Swords – just like Four of Cups – is clearly saying ‘no.’ The picture is reminiscent of the railroad crossing signs in the U. S. – the ‘X.’ A woman in night dress sits with her back to a large body of water (mass consciousness, remember?). She is blindfolded. Her arms are crossed, and the way the heavy swords are balanced crosswise, putting them down whilst blindfolded would be risky. A seated female, metaphor-wise, suggests passivity; and this illustration resembles High Priestess, which means passivity. ‘Roadblock’ is a good word for this Tarot card. You’ve gone as far as you can go. Stop. No way to. Don’t. Yes, Two of Swords is one of the negators, one of the cards that cancels others’ meanings out with negative words, including merely ‘no’ and ‘not.’
………………………….. Six of Pentacles is about exchanges, fair exchanges, and it’s a justice card too (those scales are a dead giveaway). The employer weighs to the gram the value of the gold in the coins, although he could get away with using their face values. Six of Pentacles is a study today: Negatively aspected – blocked, even – on both sides, its meanings are phrased negatively. You have to remember to remove the backing from the cards sometimes, you know? So I have switched the ones we use here to their positives, and here they are:

She has a lot in common with Fool too: They both live in the ethereal planes, and don’t pay much attention to the physical details down here. World is the adept who is “master of both worlds,” which means being spiritually able to handle any interference from the dark side in occultism. World has a lot of meanings, but today the one about shutting out or blocking is featured along with the one about being spiritually masterful.
Two of Wands and Queen of Swords Now, this ‘master of worlds’ theme is underlined when Two of Wands joins the pair (World and Hanged Man). Two of Wands has his world in his hands. Things are in control and under control. Then Queen of Swords adds a contradiction of the powerful position we are in with Two of Wands: Queen of Swords is lacking, suffering, complaining and being a victim. (Strangely enough, she is also the strong-willed woman or bitch woman – but not so much today.) But more of her function in our story later.
+ WE NOW HAVE A THEME OF REALIZING OR NOT REALIZING HOW IN CONTROL WE REALLY ARE, a theme that is anchored in spiritual territory. “Be aware that you do have your world in your own hands, that you are spiritually powerful that way,” Tarot is saying with these three cards occurring in sequence this way.
(Queen of Swords is us not seeing that and letting ourselves be put-upon or even victimized or doing without.) World’s double meaning (blocking out) strengthens Queen of Swords’ powerlessness. I hope I am making this clear; it is convoluted or complicated.
Two of Wands and World Both Two of Wands and World refer to the world. They both refer to mastery too. They both refer to security too. Two of Wands means to plan, and it means financial security (but not real estate or banking, today). But you could say the banker may own your house, but you are creating events from a higher order than his.
Two of Wands and Hanged Man both involve foresight and the future. Hanged Man emphasizes awareness, whereas Two of Wands simply refers to future, or to future tense, or to a future plan.
Queen of Swords is the one who is disgruntled and complaining that she does not have. Conversely, she is the strong and strong-willed no-nonsense wench, the mama or the bitch, and can be the older woman or old lady. She is on some point of the assertive-to-aggressive scale. She is not shy.
World and Queen of Swords Both Queen of Swords and World ‘don’t put up with’ and ‘aren’t going to be messed with.’ Both are intolerant females: Queen of Swords is mad and demanding what is hers, and World will not put up with anything: no interference.

Two of Wands today is mainly about being in control, having the future under control, having your world or your fate in your own hands, and the future. This cards shows a real estate mogul overlooking the town he owns, planning how to make more money from his property. Its usual application is plans, financial future, financial security, and security generally.
World repels interference and is free to do whatever she wishes by virtue of a mature level of life skills. She is repelling troublemakers by being adept at handling them and yet not needing to. That is the social application. Hanged Man brings out World’s metaphysical theme, and in that theme, World is the adept who masters ‘both worlds,’ meaning the good and the bad. (She is the guru who grew up in the ghetto.) World also is nude and has a sexy figure.
Today, in a rare application caused by surrounding cards (Hanged Man especially), World is not acknowledging or blocking psychic intuition. Usually she is blocking, filtering or shutting out undesirable elements. Today there’s a ‘blindness’ to her.
Queen of Swords The illustration shows a woman grieving a dead baby. That is how Queen of Swords gets her aggrieved, put-upon suffering meanings. She can be a negative nag, the mama or old lady. She can be a stern and strong woman , an assertive or aggressive woman who does not put up with ‘lip.’ The female drill sergeant or the whining energy vampire. Today she stands for accepting that you cannot do something about your circumstances.
Hanged Man Intuition and awareness, including intuitive awareness, is what this card is about in every deck. The upside-down way you feel when a newly realized concept reinterprets things you know already, and you ‘see things in a different light.’ Eureka. Deja vu. Queen of Pentacles is the money manager; she is the support – maybe in a possessive way – of her man; Strength is purely about being in control, being on top of things, having a grip on what’s happening, and not letting anything get to you; Two of Wands is also about being in control of the future, and of money.
The remaining card is simply realizing, being aware, knowing, etc.
Queen of Pentacles and Strength are both able to handle whatever it is.

Queen of Pentacles is you with the talents you have to invest, investing them in someone or something you back and are loyal to or devoted to. This is often the loyal wife managing the money of the family business and being possessive of and devoted to her husband. Words for this card, which shows the woman with money in her hands, outdoors in a fertile spring, are: she is able or her ability, she enables, she can, she can handle, skilled at, possessive, her asset(s), she owns, she manages, she manages money, bookkeeper, loyal wife, she is the backer or investor – things like that.
Strength She tames the beast that would have attacked her by disarming it with the force of her character, so that it purrs where it wants to roar. Evil spirits avoid adepts as muggers avoid martial artists, and they just know. ‘Having the the touch’ allows you to do whatever it is effortlessly where the rest of us sweat to accomplish the same. People get a feeling about who you are, so get yourself to the place where Strength is, and no one will be in your way. Key words for Strength are overcome, solution, apply a solution, prevent, nip in the bud, get (him) to, influence (them) to, assertive woman, bossy lady, adept.
Two of Wands is you in control of your fate, feeling secure because you are secure, the world in your hands, looking out, planning, the future, planning the future, finances and financial security and long-term financial matters. It is about owning real estate, and about bankers, too – and investments, of course. Foresight: Up there on the roof, he has a view of the whole picture. That is the place to be … up, looking out … to be in control of your fate.
Hanged Man Hyper-altertness. Suddenly you realize that you knew this all along but suppressed it consciously, and now your subconscious throws it up to you: boom, hyper-alertness, realization. Hanged Man is when your intuition gangs up on you and leaves a vacuum in your orientation to reality. You feel upside-down, your head on fire, in suspended animation. This card is frequently interpreted as know, realize, aware, psychic, intuition, inspired or inspiration, to sense, see, envision or vision, a flash or flashback, ‘get it’ and understand.

In these group readings, there’s no question (and no Questioner) to limit what the four cards can mean, so they can mean opposite things.
When there is a negative-meaning card (a ‘negator,’ I call them), the readings contradict one another because that card can make any of the other cards in the spread negative. Negator cards mean things like: no, never, not, end, can’t, etc. Never be queasy about the number of ‘bad’ card because it takes two bad cards to say ‘not dead’ and only one to say ‘dead.’
Without a question or a Questioner, pronouns (I, you, he, she, we, they, etc.) are very flexible. I leave out pronouns in writing this as much as possible – awkward to do that sometimes. When I put them in parentheses, feel very free to change them around to suit yourself.
Now in a ‘real’ individual reading, the questioner asks a specific question which provides at least half the information! In an individual’s reading, the parties are identified and sometimes a time frame is too. Here, in a group reading, we cannot do that and so we get more variety of sentences.
Horoscopes are group readings, too. Astrology is based on someone else’s birth data, though, so a ‘solar’ group horoscope never really solidly applies to you! (Astrologers want you to know this!)
Tarot successfully addresses the group of visitors, whoever they are. It provides useful information that applies to their daily lives: They tell you this in the comments, for three years now. Tarot can tell you things about people you don’t know personally – such as whoever on your job has a say in your raise or continued employment there, whether that is one person or many. Visitors report that the information is equally accurate for new visitors as it is for the family of regular visitors.

“Realize it is a sure thing when you feel it’s a sure thing.” Spreads which repeat themselves as pairs are usually ‘difficult,’ as in difficult to get along with. But not today. Today we have sixty or so sentences, and nuances are more numerous than usual, so I have more sentences that appear in more than one category than usual.
Both Ace of Wands and Two of Wands are certainty, as in ‘for certain.’
Hanged Man and Four of Pentacles are both about knowing, private and internal knowing and feeling. Hanged Man often calls up ‘intensely feel’ or ‘intense feeling.’ Four of Pentacles often calls up ‘deep down inside’ and ‘private feelings.’
Ace of Wands is force, assertion, even aggression (hand with a board in it). Four of Pentacles is ‘to restrain.’
Hanged Man is knowing; Four of Pentacles is keeping it inside, keeping a secret.
So our story is about awareness; and about assertion, resisting assertion passively.
Since Ace of Wands represents sexual matters, that meaning is more prominent (ha-ha, one of its main meanings) today with Hanged Man’s ‘intense feeling’ and Four of Pentacles ‘deep down private feeling.’

Two of Wands A guy ‘with the world in his hands’ is sure of himself; and that kind of certainty is what our Two of Wands in Tarot Verbatim™ means. He’s planning what to do with his real estate holdings below to squeeze even more profit out of them – business planning and planning in general. Financial security, pension, bank matters, the future.
Four of Pentacles Things we keep to ourselves – which includes things we cherish, money we hold onto, our deep feelings – as well as our secrets. This card in Tarot Verbatim also speaks of shortage, of feeling inferior. He can be a skinflint, and he can be withholding affection. It isn’t limited to males in its general meaning, but the person in the picture is a guy.
Ace of Wands Primacy (being Number One) is its main meaning. Maleness, assertion, sex (the sprouted limb resembles a penis), are featured, with words such as ‘have to,’ ‘make’ and ‘must’ as well as: clout, succeed, control, overcome, resolve, threatened and threat, and ‘make it a point.’

Each Tarot sentence is a literal-interpretation reading of the scenes pictured on the four cards you see. Only what each of the cards says – phrase by phrase – no fillers – no psychic ability used. The readings are about you and the people around you. They are about today and the days around it. Tarot, all by itself, talks to you. This is a demonstration of that .
Tarot will address any group flexibly, as it does here of ‘all the visitors.’ (It can address ‘all the people at work who have a say in my raise,’ for instance, without you knowing who or where those people are.)
Horoscopes are group readings too.
Astrology has to be based on someone else’s birth data, though, so it does not solidly apply to you just because of where the sun was when you were born. (Astrologers know this.)

Without a question to focus the answer, four cards can mean contradictory things, especially when the Spread has a card that means ‘no, never or not.’ That negative modifier can apply to any one of the cards.
Without a question also the pronouns (you, him, her, me, us, them, they, etc.) in a group reading are more flexible, especially in some of these Rider Waite Tarot spreads. When a pronoun is in parentheses, feel very free to substitute. Notice how, as much as possible, we drop pronouns, which makes for some awkward phrasing.
The question in a ‘real’ individual reading supplies at least half the information! In a ‘real’ reading, the parties are identified (including the gender of the questioner!), and so is the time frame if there is one. In this group reading, we cannot do that, so we have variety.
